Show 2025
The show title is Japanese - 'Ikigai’ pronounced “ee-key-guy” and means “reason for being” and refers to the things that make life worthwhile. It’s often used to describe one’s passion or the purpose of life.
-
What It Means
Ikigai is the reason you get up in the morning and what brings you joy. It's about finding a sense of purpose and fulfilment in activities that use your strengths, contribute to society, and bring you joy. -
How It's Used
In traditional Japanese philosophy, ikigai is about finding your bliss. In Western interpretation, it's often used as a method for finding your dream career. -
The Four Principles
The four principles of ikigai are what you love (PASSION), what you're good at (TALENT), what the world needs (PURPOSE), and what you can get paid for (VOCATION). -
Some rules of ikigai include staying active, nurturing good habits, reconnecting with nature, living in the moment, and fostering a sense of gratitude and community.
